The Cold Spring Walk N Wheel Loop (CSWWL) is an exciting new project undertaken in May 2006 and coordinated by employees of the Assumption Campus to develop a community wellness program, a fitness trail called the Cold Spring Walk N' Wheel Loop, a Walk N' Wheel Club, and other fitness programs for all members of the Cold Spring Community.
The CSWWL is planned to begin construction in Spring 2007, on property owned by Assumption Home, and in 2008 on property owend by the ROCORI Middle School. The entire loop border the Cold Spring Creek and the resotration projects conducted by the students of the ROCORI Middle School.
The CSWWL Steering Committee is hoping to raise approximately $250,000 in donations and grants over the next two to three years in order to complete the trail, add rest stop benches, a drinking fountain and educational and fitness stations.
Please download a CSWWL Brochure to read more about the project and share with your family and friends. If you are interested in becoming more involved in the CSWWL Project, please email the CSWWL Project Coordinator or call Tony at (320) 685-3693.
Reasons for the CSWWL Project are:
- The project
will create "a pathway to community wellness", by making the CSWWL a
new focal point and rally cry for physical activity and wellness within
the community.
- The project
will make the environment more supportive of physical activity, and
enhance wellness opportunities by removing barriers to physical
activity and access by the handicapped.
- The
project will enable the entire community to support and promote local
environmental education. By incorporating the Cold Spring Creek
restoration as rest stops along the CSWWL.
- The project could provide the ROCORI Trail the opportunity to access land that is adjacent to the ROCORI Middle School (ROCORI School District), the Cold Spring Senior Center and the Assumption Senior Campus.
